Materials that correspond to the journal concept, editorial policy towards authors and ethical principles are accepted for consideration.

Article Requirements

Content and the text design

  1. The design of articles in The Hydrotechnika is in the following sequence: a) type (genre) of the article, UDC, DOI (assigned by the editors), title of the article, author (full name, place of employment and its location, email), abstracts (no more than 250 words), keywords (no more than 5 words), information for citation (issued by the editors), acknowledgments (required if funding is available) – in Russian; b) article type, title, authors, abstracts, keywords, citation information, acknowledgments – in English; c) structured text of the article with subheadings; d) a numbered list of sources in Russian and English; e) information about the author(s) in Russian and English (position, if any – academic degree, academic titles, personal identifiers of the author in scientific databases); f) information about the article (received by the editors, approved after peer review, accepted for publication) – in Russian and English (completed by the editors).
  2. All information specified in Clause 1 is submitted by the author in Russian and English in the indicated sequence (with the exception of information completed by the editors).
  3. When preparing articles, the editors are guided by the recommendations of GOST R 7.07-2021 “Articles in Journals and Collected Works. Publishing Design".
  4. The volume of the article with abstracts, keywords, list of sources, figure captions, including translations into English, should not exceed 30,000 characters with spaces.
  5. The text is typed in 14-point size, spacing is 1.5 lines.
  6. The article should have a heading and structure with subheadings reflecting the problem statement, object, goals, methods, research results, or thematic blocks reflecting the author's scientific ideas and position.
  7. It is not allowed to include images (figures, diagrams, charts, graphs, etc.) in the text – all of them are attached as separate files with names corresponding to the image captions.
  8. If there are images, the text should contain links to them in accordance with the numbering of the images. Figure captions are indicated in Russian and English as a common list at the end of the text file.

Formulas

Drawings, diagrams, graphic charts

  • The number of images in one article should not exceed 5.
  • It is not allowed to use images in the article that do not carry a semantic charge and are not directly related to the results of the study.
  • When borrowing images, the original sources must be indicated in the captions.
  • Drawings, diagrams, logos are accepted in vector graphic format: EPS, PDF, CDR, Ai or in JPEG, TIF, PNG, BMP.
  • Schemes and drawings of the AutoCAD format should be converted to one of the PDF, EPS, PNG formats.
  • Graphs and diagrams are accepted in vector graphic or in Excel format.
  • Photos are accepted in JPEG, TIF, PNG, BMP formats (resolution 150-300 dpi).

Tables

  • In terms of volume, one table should not occupy more than 1/3 of the printed page of the journal (A4).
  • It is undesirable to have more than three tables in one article.
  • Tables made in Word format can be inserted along the text.
  • Tables made in Excel format are attached as separate files.
  • In other formats, as well as screenshots, photographs, tables scanned from the literature are not accepted.
  • All tables must have captions in Russian and English, which are indicated along the text (for Word tables) or at the end of the text file after figure captions (for Excel tables).

Interaction with the editors

  • Authors can send materials for publication to the following email address: info@hydroteh.ru, with acknowledgment of receipt from the editors.
  • Materials for publication must be accompanied by a cover letter indicating the author's consent to publication, the author's contact details for operational communication, as well as permission to publish the organization name where the author works, if the organization has adopted a procedure for coordinating the publications of its employees.
  • All materials sent to the editors are checked in the Anti-plagiarism system. With matching content rate exceeding 20% (including previous publications of the author), materials for publication are not accepted (with the exception of review articles), as the editors inform the author by attaching a print screen of the check in the Antiplagiarism system.
  • The term for consideration of the submitted MS, including reviewing, does not exceed three months. The editors inform the author of the decision without fail.
  • The editors do not return manuscripts and store them: within a year (in case of refusal for publication), within 5 years (accepted for publication).
  • Materials that have received positive recommendations are published within a year – no later than the next three issues of the journal from the moment the materials are received by the editors.
  • The editorial staff is open for interaction and is ready to promptly answer the author's questions, send samples of the design of articles, additional information necessary for the author, etc.
  • The editors enter into a license agreement with the author of the article approved for publication, which fixes the issue number with the author's article, the release date, and the provision of author's copies.

Terms of transfer of copyright

  • The author is the owner of exclusive and non-exclusive rights to the materials published in the journal, which is confirmed by the copyright sign on the front page of the published article.
  • The author and the publisher (PortNews Media Group LLC) enter into a license agreement on the transfer by the author of non-exclusive rights to use the work, which specifies the rights and responsibilities of the Parties.

Peer review

  • By submitting materials to The Hydrotechnika, the author accepts the ethics of peer review, which is followed by the editors and participants in the publication process.
  • The author can attach previous comments and peer reviews to the article, which does not replace the peer review organized by the editors.
  • The editors send copies of reviews to the author and, if they contain comments, discuss with the author the terms for finalizing the article. If the author does not agree with the comments of the reviewers, he/she can make the necessary clarifications in the text and send a written justification of his position to the editorial office – in this case, the editors can organize an additional review, and the issue of publishing the article is submitted for discussion by the editorial board.
  • After the comments of the reviewer are eliminated, the materials for publication are again transferred to the reviewer, who informs the editors in writing of his decision to publish or not to publish the materials.
  • In case of a negative opinion of the reviewers or, in case of controversial issues, refusal to publish by decision of the editorial board, the editors send the author a substantiated written refusal to publish.
  • Reviews are kept in the editorial office for 5 years.
