Abstract. The efficiency of the cooling system directly affects the reliability of the hydrogenerator and its durability.When upgrading the cooling systems of hydrogenerators manufactured in the middle of the last century, it is possibleto increase the cooling efficiency and reduce energy losses for ventilation. The article lists the main prerequisitesfor the modernization of cooling systems, considers modernization measures and their impact on the characteristicsof the system.
